🏛️ A W Inside a Historic Palazzo

The W Rome fills a pair of nineteenth century palazzi on Via Liguria, a quiet street a short walk from the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. The cream and terracotta stone is marked now by the hotel's black W. Inside, the old Roman shell is kept and the W design turns up loud against it: a gilded dome with a round oculus above the public rooms, black and grey marble underfoot, and a hand-painted mural wrapping the lounge.

🛋️ The Lounge Is the Hotel

The W Lounge is the social heart, lit from a skylight and a wall of patterned glass. It runs under arches toward a huge photograph of a painted Roman gallery, with bold furniture set on marble and a long brass and marble bar down one side. A leather banquette and a round tufted ottoman sit in a quiet corner under a warm wood ceiling. It is where the evening starts, humming into the night alongside Giardino Clandestino, the garden bar.

🛏️ The Rooms and the W Color

The guest rooms keep a quiet palette, a channeled leather headboard, a deep red drape, and brass sconces against pale panelling, so the W color turns up elsewhere. The corridors run bold geometric runners in coral, blue, and cream, and even the in-room coffee corner leans fully into the design. Some rooms open to a small private terrace set among lavender and oleander, looking across to a warm Roman facade.

🍽️ Giano, and the Roof

The hotel restaurant is Giano, Sicilian cooking from Chef Ciccio Sultano, named for Janus the two faced Roman god, and the breakfast hub. Up top, Otto Rooftop and Citrico serve pizza and cocktails, with a small rooftop pool and the WET Deck looking over the city. Away from the street, an inner courtyard opens between terracotta wings hung with plants, and a few steps off, umbrella pines and a garden villa rise over an old rusticated wall.
